Privacy Policy: Pawsport

Pawsport ("the app") is developed by HJS Apps, part of HJS Solutions ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app handles and why.

The short version

Pawsport has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads and no tracking. Your pets, trips, vets, documents and document photos are stored on your phone and are never sent to us. The only time the app sends anything is when you use Ask Pawsport (the AI assistant) or report one of its replies.

Data that stays on your phone

Your pets (name, species, breed or note, microchip number), your trip dates and route, your checklist dates and vets you add.
Photos of documents you take with the camera or choose with your phone's photo picker. Pawsport never reads, checks or uploads them.
A backup file, if you export one. It goes only where you choose to share or save it.

Ask Pawsport (the AI assistant)

When you send a question, the app sends your question, the conversation so far and a short trip summary (dog or cat, route, crossing dates and checklist status) to our server, which passes it to Anthropic (the maker of the Claude AI model) to write the reply. It is used only to answer that question and is not stored by us. Anthropic processes it on our behalf under its commercial terms. Your pet's name, microchip number, documents and photos are not sent.

A random identifier made on your phone is sent with each question so that a fair daily limit can be applied per device. It is not linked to you, your phone's hardware or any account, and you can reset it at any time in Settings.

Reporting a reply

If you tap "Report this reply", the app sends that reply, the question it answered and the reason you chose to our server, so we can improve the assistant. Reports are kept in our service log for no more than 90 days and then deleted automatically.

What the app does not do

No analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software is included.
No data is sold or shared with third parties for their own use.
No location, contacts, microphone or other personal information is collected.

Permissions

Camera: only when you choose "Take photo" for your document wallet. Internet: only for Ask Pawsport and reports. Photos you choose come through Android's own photo picker, so the app has no access to the rest of your photo library.

Deleting your data

Settings > Delete all my data removes everything from your phone, as does uninstalling the app. There is nothing held on our side to delete apart from reports, which expire on their own within 90 days.

Children

Pawsport is intended for adults planning pet travel and is not directed at children.
