Snubwise: Privacy Policy
1. What this app is
Snubwise ("the app") is a training and health companion for owners of flat-faced (brachycephalic) dogs, such as Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs and similar breeds. It is not a medical device and does not give veterinary advice; it is a training planner and diary that records what you enter and does not diagnose, monitor or treat any condition. There is no account and no sign-in: the app is used by you, the dog's owner, on your own device.
2. The short version
Almost everything in Snubwise stays on your own device. The one exception is the Ask Snubwise assistant and the Generate a plan feature: when you actively use either of these, your typed question or goal, your dog's name, breed and age, and your plan-progress counts are sent to our server and on to Anthropic (the company behind Claude) to produce a reply. This is not used to identify you, and no chat is stored on our server. Every other screen in the app works fully offline and sends nothing anywhere.
3. What stays on your device only
Everything you enter into the breathing log, the symptom log, care routines, the vet-visit summary questions, and your dogs' profiles is saved only in local storage on your own device. This never leaves the device, is never sent to us, and is never seen by us.
4. What Ask Snubwise and Generate a plan send, and why

This is sent to our own server (run on Railway, a cloud hosting provider, in the US-East region), which forwards it to Anthropic to generate the one reply, and does not keep a copy once the reply is sent back to you. Every request is encrypted in transit. Ask Snubwise clearly refuses to diagnose your dog, interpret a breathing count, or give you a safety threshold; a plan it writes is labelled as written by AI and should be checked with your vet or trainer. Nothing about this feature is used to identify you as a person, to advertise to you, or to build a profile of you.
If you do not use Ask Snubwise or Generate a plan, none of this is ever sent, and the rest of the app works exactly the same.
5. What we do NOT collect
- No account, no sign-in, no name, email address or postal address of yours is ever collected.
- No analytics, tracking or crash-reporting software is included in the app.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier is collected.
- No location access of any kind. The heat guard in Train asks you to type today's temperature yourself; the app never looks up your location.
- No camera, microphone or photo-library access.
6. Export, import and printing
You can choose to export your data as a file, or generate a printed or PDF vet-visit summary, using your device's own share or print/save-as-PDF feature. These actions are entirely under your control: the file goes wherever you choose to send it, using your device's normal share sheet. Snubwise itself never sends an export anywhere. Import works the same way in reverse: you choose a file, and the app reads it back into local storage.
7. Where it is kept and who else handles it
- On your device: your dogs' profiles, breathing log, symptom log, care routines and training progress, in local storage only.
- Our server: runs on Railway (railway.com), and only ever handles an Ask Snubwise / Generate a plan request while it is being answered; it does not keep a database of your data.
- Anthropic: processes the request on our instructions, to generate the one reply, under Anthropic's own terms for API customers.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
- International transfers: our server and Anthropic's processing may take place outside the UK and the EU/EEA (our server runs in the US-East region). Where data is transferred, we rely on the safeguards the law requires.
8. How long we keep it

9. Deleting your data, and your rights
Because almost everything is stored only on your device, you are in full control:
- Use any in-app clear/reset function, if the app version you have offers one; or
- Delete the app's data from your device's own Settings > Apps screen; or
- Uninstalling the app removes all of its on-device data with it.
There is no account and no server-side copy of your device data for us to separately delete. Because an Ask Snubwise or Generate a plan request is not retained once it is answered, there is nothing held on our server to request deletion of; if you have a question about this, contact us at the address above.
Depending on where you live (such as under UK or EU GDPR) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, to object, and to complain to your data protection authority. We will respond within the time the law requires.
10. Security
All traffic to our server and on to Anthropic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). The app's Android configuration only permits network access to our own AI proxy address, from one part of the app; every other feature has no way to make a network connection. No system is perfectly secure; if we find a breach that affects you we will tell affected users and the authorities as the law requires.
11. Children
Snubwise is intended for adult dog owners (18+) and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any data from children, or from anyone, of any age.
12. Not medical advice
This policy is about data, not about your dog's health. Snubwise is a training and diary aid: it records what you enter and does not interpret it, diagnose anything, or give veterinary advice. If you are worried about your dog's breathing, contact your vet; if your dog is struggling to breathe, contact a vet immediately.
13. Changes
If we change this policy we will change the date above. Because the app has no way to contact you directly, please check this page periodically if you want to stay informed. Any material change that affects what data the app handles would also be reflected in the app's Google Play Data Safety declaration.
